San Joaquin County

San Juaquin County 3

San Joaquin County occupies the central location in California’s vast agricultural heartland, the San Joaquin Valley. The area encompass endless miles of relatively level grass lands, agriculturally productive grounds and rich soiled lands. Fruit and nut crops, livestock and poultry are the mainstays of a vibrant and dominant agricultural economy that contribute to the county’s ranking among the states top ten counties in gross farm production. The county is interlaced with a complex network of creeks, lakes, rivers and canals which define the character and landscape almost as much as the vast acreages devoted to farm land. The waterways provide recreation opportunities, such as boating, fishing, camping, scenic beauty, water supply for many local uses and even access to the San Francisco Bay. Wineries and vineyards are springing up from Stockton to Lodi and seems to be a leading crop in the area in the recent years.

Each city within San Joaquin County as well as the unincorporated areas, offer a unique opportunity to enjoy natural California beauty, music, arts and culture. South from Ripon with its Almond Blossom Festival, north end with Lodi’s Grape Festival and Harvest Faire, to Stockton’s annual Asparagus Festival, jointly create opportunities for families and the community to come together; paired with sunny weather, offer year round entertainment. Locals enjoy culture and arts through the Stockton Symphony, San Joaquin County Ballet, Stockton Civic Theatre, and a variety of historic and children’s museums. With over 75 languages spoken in the region combined with rich history and creative art, you’ll enjoy an air of celebration about individual customs, foods and cultural diversities.

The tremendous growth pressures of San Francisco Bay Area coupled with the absence of affordable housing there, have made San Joaquin County a highly attractive location for many business and  home owners. Real estate is plentiful and the median property/home price in Stockton is lower than surrounding areas. From new home development, charming historic homes and business fronts mostly found in central Stockton and downtown Lodi, families and business continue to grow and prosper in this emerging Valley.
